Hawaii is a top destination for people the whole world over who want to kick back, relax and forget about all the stress at home. With our beautiful beaches, multiple islands and many lounging opportunities, vacationing just doesn’t get much better than Hawaii. If you go, one popular daytrip you won’t want to miss is charter fishing in Hawaii, courtesy of Sea Wife Charters. What is that, you might ask? Read on to find out!
What is charter fishing?
To put it simply, charter fishing is the opportunity for you and your friends and family to go out on a boat to enjoy a day of fishing. Our charter company, Sea Wife Charters, will provide your boat, the Seawife II, an experienced crew to sail it and the knowledge to help you find great fishing spots.
What does Sea Wife Charters bring for the outing?
In addition to a fantastic boat and excellent crew, we’ll also bring along all the fishing gear you’ll need, plus a cooler with ice for your favorite foods, drinks, light snacks and water.
What should we bring?
This trip is all about you, so feel free to pack whatever will make the day truly yours. If you have any favorite foods or drinks, throw them in a bag and take advantage of our cooler space to store them. Charter fishing in Hawaii is wonderfully sunny, so you should probably also bring along plenty of sunscreen and your coolest shades. If you don’t want to keep a lot of food or drinks in your hotel room until the big day, you can take advantage of our deli and convenience store and stalk up before you come aboard. It opens at 6 a.m., so you can come as early as you like.
Where do we board?
Come meet us at our office at the Fuel Dock in Honokohau Harbor, and we’ll pull out from there. Please come 15 minutes early for check-in so we can get you all set for the day in plenty of time.
What kind of fish can we get?
Charter fishing in Hawaii is especially fun because there are so many wonderful types of fish to catch! Some of the common gamefish you may encounter include striped marlin, blue marlin, mahi mahi (dorado), ono (wahoo), spearfish, ahi (yellow-fin tuna) or aku (skipjack tuna). There’s also a chance you could find black marlin or sailfish. If you want to fish in specific areas, be sure to ask about our private fishing charters. On our shared charter fishing expeditions, we’ll usually focus on smaller game.
Can we keep our fish?
Absolutely! We actually advertise, “Keep Your Catch.” We can cut up and bag your fish for you, too. If you prefer, you can also release your fish, as long as they are uninjured. Just let us know in advance.
